Elements Looper

This is a looper that I made to allow students to feel what the different elements of music do to a track over time for the Electronic Music Elements curriculum. Drums adds energy, Bass adds power, Chords add emotion, and Melody adds identify. By being able to bring these elements in and out of the loop performances, students are able to make the connection more kinesthetically, developing an understanding of what these elements do over time. It’s also super fun!

  • Start the loop by pressing the play button or using the spacebar.

  • Toggle Drums, Bass, Chords, and Melody using the buttons or by using the corresponding hotkeys.

  • Trigger the one-shot samples using the buttons or the corresponding hotkeys.

  • Use the filter pad to add a low pass filter to the main loop audio. Moving the dot to the left and right adjusts which frequencies are cut and moving it up and down changes the resonance.

  • Think of the circle indicator in the play button like a clock to help with phrasing.

    • Small changes every 15 minutes

    • Medium changes every 30 minutes

    • Big changes every hour.
