Goal: To identify the different parts of your own guitar

How to Complete the Assignment:

1) Record a video of yourself saying and then showing (pointing or touching) the following parts of the guitar:

Example: "This is the neck." *points to neck of guitar* "This is the fretboard." *points to the fretboard*

• Headstock

• Tuners

• Nut

• Neck

• Fretboard

• Frets

• Top

• Back Side

• Bridge

• Strings

2) Say the name of all the strings and play them, starting from the Low E and proceeding to the high E.

Example: "This is the Low E string." *plays low E string* "Next is the A string." *plays the a string*

Practice playing the open strings with rhythms. Break down your practice into the following order:

1. Find the pitches.

2. Identify the rhythm.

3. Count and play the pitches and rhythms without a steady beat.

4. Count and play Play the pitches and rhythms together at a slow tempo.

5. Slowly speed up the tempo to the target speed.
