Assignment
Goal: To demonstrate that you know (1) the musical alphabet and which notes in the alphabet are a whole-step apart and which are only a half-step apart and (2) how the musical alphabet is played on the guitar (3) using proper technique
How to Complete the Assignment:
Complete the Fretboard Worksheet
Say and play each of the letters of the music alphabet starting with Low E and moving upwards, stopping at Middle E.
Repeat the process moving from Middle E back down to Low E. In this order, you need to (i) say the note, (ii) play the note, (iii) say the direction, and (iv) say the interval up to the next note. Repeat.
Example: "Low E" *plays Low E* "Half step up to F" || "Low F" *plays low F* "Whole step up to G"
Use the Low Note Flashcards by choosing four random cards and (i) saying the range and the note and (ii) playing the note.
Example: "Low F" *plays Low F* "Middle E" *plays Middle E*
