course sequencing guide

  • One of the unique features of Elements is its adaptability for different age levels and time frames. Use the descriptions and sample sequences to help find the right fit for your teaching situation.

The Standard Implementation works well for a full-year high school or middle school music technology class that meets every day. This implementation can be expanded by using all of the enrichment material or truncated by removing some of the application projects.

The Shortened Implementation follows the Standard Implementation but is divided into two parts, allocating more time to application projects. This approach is suitable for shorter high school classes or middle school elective rotations.

The Basics Implementation is ideal for elementary school and middle school rotations. All arrangement elements have been moved to an optional second level, reducing the organizational workload for each project. The arranging elements for each unit can then be added alongside the arranging unit to create a second level of the course.

Save As Projects are identified with an * and a project number in the sample sequences. To save time, these lessons can use material from pervious projects.
